one of the many cool things about living in florida is to walk outside and watch the space shuttle make it's way into orbit all the way from the opposite coast of the state. i'm so happy to share these moments with my sons and now to have some cool pix to remind us what we have seen. i can only hope to have the opportunity to photograph a launch up close from the east coast one day.
Space shuttle Discovery launched on-time at 7:43 p.m. EDT and NASA flight managers confirmed main engine cutoff. The shuttle has reached orbit, flying at 17,500 miles per hour. Click here for more information on the shuttles mission.
